In every community, more and more youth are becoming latchkey kids due to lack of youth programming after school and in the summer months. Youth are in dire need of having an adult in their life who will spend time with them and cultivate their strengths and abilities. Breakthru! partners with the community to collectively offer programming and services to accommodate this need.

According to the CDC, homicide is the leading cause of death for African Americans and the second leading cause of death for Hispanics ages 10 years old to 24 years old.
According to The National Center of PTSD, over one-third of girls and boys across the country ages 10 years old to 16 years old are victims of direct violence and over three-quarters of children in a high-violence urban areas reported coming into contact with community violence.
United Way of Connecticut's 2-1-1 2010 Annual Report shows evidence of the need for community resources by servicing 486,242 calls,19,200 of which were concerning parents, doctors, and child care providers seeking child development assistance and support.

Our Mission
The mission of Breakthru! Inc. is to implement a uniting system with each community that utilizes our services. This uniting system will assist the community in breaking through barriers that previously caused a hindrance in it's progression.
History
Breakthru! Inc. began in 2011 with a focus of developing program models that assist in healing and bringing communities together. The program models are built specific to work for different targeted populations in the inner-city community from youth, persons suffering from mental illness, to single parents. Our purpose is to provide tools for a successful life; in turn, creating a successful community.
